Houghton on the Hill Primary School Technical Specifications & Project Management

PROJECT VALUE:

£135,000.00

CLIENT:

LOCATION:

Leicester

CONTRACTOR:

PCI Contracts

CHALLENGE:

The toilets within the school were in an extremely poor state of repair and did not meet the schools needs or standards. The areas suffered from poor ventilation resulting in damp conditions and corroded pipework. Also, numerous dead legs within pipework and hot water boilers lead to an increased legionella risk. It was also noted the cubicle installation left a serious lack of privacy which caused some bullying within the school.

SOLUTION:

RAM conducted a measured and condition survey of the area to provide a technical design and full condition improvement bid for the 20/21 round of CIF funding.

The specification was for the full replacement of sanitaryware with hygienic, robust and tamper proof fittings and fixtures, including the provisions of new hot water boilers to prevent the risk of Legionella and to address the high-risk health and safety and safeguarding issues identified.

We managed the programme of works and all Health and Safety requirements of the project from inception through to completion. Works were traditionally tendered prior to the CIF Bid submission with all design and specification prepared by our in our Building Services team. A contractor was appointed for the works following the ESFA funding announcement.

RESULT:

We secured funding for the trust to the value of £150k which lead to the project’s construction phase. This was completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
