SUMMARY:
RAM Building Consultancy were requested to carry out a Roof Condition Survey to a newly completed pitched roof on blocks of residential housing with a view to go to court to recover any costs for rectifying the works.
THE PROBLEM:
Leaks occurring since the re-roofing works were been carried out causing issues to the residents.
THE METHOD:
RAM undertook a Roof Condition Survey using a combination of visual and intrusive investigations, the intrusive investigations were taken from various locations to establish the nailing pattern and check the condition of the underlay, battens used, fixings used for tiles, eaves detailing and to check the pitch on the exposed rafter and the laying angle of the bottom course of tiles.
